GLEN BURNIE, Md. — A three-vehicle crash left one person dead and three people injured in Glen Burnie Sunday afternoon.

At approximately 12:49 p.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of Ritchie Highway and Marley Station Road for a crash.

According the the Anne Arundel Police Department, a 2008 Toyota Tundra was traveling southbound on Ritchie Highway when it ran a red light.

The Tundra drove into the intersection and collided with a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox that was making a left turn into the Marley Station Mall.

The third vehicle, a 2013 BMW, was also making a left turn into the mall when it was hit by both vehicles.

The passenger of the Chevrolet Equinox, 36-year-old Brandon E. Deleon, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, 60-year-old Miguel E. Deleon, was taken to Shock Trauma with serious injuries.

The driver of the Toyota Tundra, 35-year-old Pedro Balmore Baires Beltran, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The passenger, a 13-year-old boy, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the BMW was not injured.

According to police, evidence suggests that Beltran, the driver of the Tundra, was under the influence of alcohol and speeding at the time of the accident.

Beltran was charged with the following:

Negligent ManslaughterCriminally Negligent ManslaughterHomicide while under the influence of alcoholLife-threatening injury by MV while under the influence of alcoholLife-threatening injury by MV while impaired by alcoholDrive under the influence of alcohol while transporting a minorDrive while impaired with alcohol while transporting a minor

The crash remains under investigation by the Traffic Safety Section of the Anne Arundel County Police Department.
